The Business High School is a vocational high school that prepares students interested in business and social sciences for the Abitur in three years and opens the door to all academic and career-oriented educational paths.
The Wirtschaftsgymnasium provides a broad general education and,
through its scientific approach, an in-depth education in economics.
Through the consistent use of student iPads in class and interdisciplinary structures, the school prepares students for the diverse digital world.
This fosters the ability to intellectually grasp complex issues, conduct research within networks, recognize interconnections, and present findings clearly. The school’s career-oriented profile is strengthened through elective courses such as Global Studies, Private Wealth Management, and Business Informatics.
The in-depth subject-specific, social, media, methodological, and practical skills acquired, along with learning through digital media, prepare students for higher education and equip them to actively and critically reflect on and navigate life situations in their personal, professional, and social spheres.
Economic decisions shape every aspect of our lives, whether on an individual level as consumers, employees, or citizens, or on an organizational level in the business and economic policy spheres. The objectives and content of the Economics and Business Administration track are derived from situations and problems drawn from the students’ own experiences, the business world, and the national economy. In Business Administration, processes and decision-making within companies are explored in depth. Legal issues are analyzed and resolved using statutory texts. Accounting results are used as a decision-making tool. The subject of study in economics is the social market economy. The focus is on market phenomena and the possibilities for steering the economy through economic policy, while taking into account the principle of sustainability.
In an increasingly globalized world, this program aims to provide future professionals and executives who wish to work in companies and institutions with a global focus with a broad foundation in business administration and economics. A defining feature of this program is the six-hour bilingual specialized course in International Economics and Business Administration. In addition to subject-specific training, the program promotes the development of academic, legal, linguistic, international, intercultural, and interdisciplinary competencies in international business.
The focus is on further developing students’ foreign language skills and competencies.
This facilitates the transition to universities offering appropriately internationally oriented programs.
In addition to the general university entrance qualification, students earn the “International Abitur Baden-Württemberg in Economics and Business Administration” certificate.
Our school is particularly distinguished by the following programs:

Educational Qualifications
The general university entrance qualification (“Abitur”) from the vocational high school with a focus on economics is recognized nationwide as a general university entrance qualification and is earned after three years.
To be awarded the general university entrance qualification, students must demonstrate proficiency in two foreign languages. Under certain circumstances, however, the requirements regarding the second foreign language are already met upon admission to the vocational high school.
Upon entering the business high school, the student has chosen either the Economics and Business Administration track (Business Track) or the International Economics and Business Administration track (International Business Track). Grades in the specialized subjects are weighted double on the general university entrance qualification transcript.
The Bad Mergentheim Business School is happy to provide guidance.
The general university entrance qualification earned entitles graduates of the Business High School to study any subject at any university, college, university of applied sciences, vocational academy, or dual university in the Federal Republic of Germany.

In addition to the specialized subject and the required subjects, students must take one course from the elective-required category.
The selection of elective-compulsory courses depends on the school’s capacity.
If the second foreign language was not taken for four consecutive school years as a course that counts toward promotion, a language at Level N (beginner) must be taken as an elective-compulsory course.
In grades 1 and 2 (qualification phase, 12th and 13th school years), instruction is provided in half-year courses, and the elective subjects of psychology, seminar course, economic studies (bilingual), or economic geography are also offered.
The upper-level counselor provides students with comprehensive information about the specifics of the qualification phase, the selection of courses, and the Abitur exam.
