(enlarge)From October 11 to 31, 2026, six students from the Bad Mergentheim Business School traveled to Madrid through the Erasmus+ program. For the first time, second-year apprentices in wholesale and industry took part in this exchange.
For three weeks, they attended a business Spanish course at the VAMOS language school. The teachers gave the group a warm welcome and encouraged the trainees to speak as much Spanish as possible right from the start. They were able to put what they learned in class to use immediately in everyday life. As a result, their Spanish skills improved noticeably, and over time they became increasingly independent in Madrid.
There was also plenty to discover on the professional front. The group visited the Spanish daily newspaper *El País*, the German Chamber of Foreign Trade, and the company Systemair, where the trainees got a glimpse into the production process. During a Spanish cooking class, they got to cook for themselves, and a group outing took them to Toledo.
In Madrid, they explored Retiro Park, visited the Reina Sofía Museum, and experienced the soccer fever at the Atlético and Real Madrid stadiums. The six of them thoroughly enjoyed their busy time in Madrid. They returned home with many shared memories and greater confidence in their Spanish skills.
