class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h3>Video Conference with Fuefuki High School<\/h3>\n<div>\n<div>With the goal of strengthening the friendship and city partnership between Isawa-Fuefuki and Bad Mergentheim and helping students better understand the uniqueness of the Japanese-German friendship, the KSM International Team at the Kaufm\u00e4nnische Schule, with the support of Ms. Andrea Takamatsu, an interpreter for the city of Bad Mergentheim on Japanese affairs, contacted Fuefuki High School in the summer of 2022.<\/div>\n<div>To this end, the International Teams\u2014thanks to the dedicated efforts of Ms. Victoria Rade and Mr. Kazuna Shirasawa\u2014and the school administrations of both schools first established initial contacts through several video conferences and developed a joint plan for the proposed school partnership.<\/div>\n<div>On January 24, 2023, the first video conference between Japanese and German 11th-grade students took place. The conference began early in the morning German time, while it was already afternoon for the students at Fuefuki High School due to the eight-hour time difference. At the start, both school principals gave a welcome speech. The students then split into small groups, and a cultural exchange via Teams meeting began, focusing on traditions and customs related to Christmas and New Year\u2019s Eve. The feedback from the German students was very positive; even minor language and comprehension difficulties did not pose a major problem. Some KSM students even said they would like more time next time so that they can have an even deeper exchange about the cultural similarities and differences between the two countries. In addition, following the digital conference, some students connected via social media to further develop the contacts they had made on a personal level.      <\/div>\n<div>The school partnership, which is currently being carried out as a digital project, is set to be expanded further in the future. A long-term goal of this partnership is for the Business School to visit Japan, followed by a return visit from the Japanese school to Bad Mergentheim. Since Japan is a partner country of the European Union and the Bad Mergentheim Business School is Erasmus+ accredited, this project could also be funded by the European Union.  <\/div>\n<div>Such a school partnership would not only promote the students\u2019 language and social skills but also strengthen their intercultural awareness. Furthermore, this would allow students from Isawa-Fuefuki and Bad Mergentheim to contribute to better global understanding even today. They were able to discuss culture, traditions, and Christmas customs. In addition, some students even connected on social media after the virtual conference to continue building the relationships they had formed on a personal level.   <\/div><div>The school partnership is currently set up as a digital project, but is intended to be expanded further in the future.
